About
At Generous Giving, we believe generosity changes the world...and us. Join peers attending the Believers in Business Conference for coffee, bagels, and meaningful conversation around living open-handedly. Our hope is that you will leave inspired and encouraged—this gathering is meant to be a gift to you.
Vinny Hu and April Bang will facilitate our Generosity Conversation. There will be a Q&A with Vinny and April to conclude our time together.
Featuring Vinny Hu

Vinny spent the bulk of his corporate career in IT within the financial services and consulting industries. For over a decade, he has also been deeply involved in stewardship leadership; this included a five-year pivot from his corporate career, during which he served as the Director of Stewardship for his church, Hoboken Grace. In this season, Vinny and his wife read God and Money, which sparked a significant shift in their perspective and led them to become part of the Generous Giving community.
Vinny has since returned to the IT world, though he remains an Elder and lay stewardship leader at Hoboken Grace. Vinny resides in Hoboken with his wife, Soomin, and their two daughters. Having grown up in the UK, he remains a devoted—but perennially disappointed—supporter of Arsenal FC in the English Premier League.
Featuring April Bang Lee

April Bang Lee has diverse experience working across the fields of philanthropy, higher education, human rights, criminal justice reform, international rule of law development, and economic policy. For over a decade, she has worked with national and international leaders in government, nonprofit and multilateral organizations, business, and healthcare. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of YS Kim Foundation where she oversaw all philanthropic initiatives of a family office and established Camp Naru, a Korean American youth camp, and Canal Projects, an international contemporary art institution. She holds an EdD and EdM from Teachers College, Columbia University, an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in economics from Smith College. She is also certified as an Executive Coach from the Hudson Institute of Coaching. In previous years, she attended a YWAM Compassion Discipleship Training School and supported HIV/AIDS ministries in Africa. This opened her heart and eyes to the work of justice, which led her to work in international criminal justice reform.
April enjoys learning new things, building community, helping people grow, hiking, going for long walks and bike rides with her husband Peter, art, and meaningful conversations over good coffee or matcha. April and Peter attend church and serve community groups at Joy Manhattan where she serves on the Leadership Board.
